The inspiration for this picture is the 1982 animated film 'Time Masters'. Designed by Moebius and directed by Rene Laloux. Growing up I loved the characters and melancholy tone.

LES MAITRES DU TEMPS ! What a masterpiece !
Too bad CGI buried most cells drawn/painted production in cinema (Not hating CGI, just regreting they mostly only do CGI now for animated movies).
Beautiful tribute you did here. The Jad et Yula siblings were my favourite characters back then !
